How long will it take for my made to order lantern to be made?

The ceramic process is a slow one that requires patience. From the moment you place a pre-order, please allow 8 weeks for your lantern to be crafted, dried, fired twice, and packaged for delivery.

In the studio pieces are ready to ship and will arrive much sooner (usually within 14 days).

Will my pre-ordered piece look exactly like the photo?

No two pieces are ever identical. Because I hand-throw, hand-carve, and glaze every item individually, there will be slight variations in shape, colour, and pattern. These small "imperfections" are not flaws; they are the marks of the maker and part of the artisan charm. You are receiving a one-of-a-kind original made specifically for you.

How do you price each lantern?

Each lantern is a labor of love and a result of weeks of work. Unlike mass-produced items, these are high-end artisan pieces. The price reflects the time it takes to individually hand throw, carve and glaze each piece, as well as the technical skill and creative vision required.

Where do you ship, and how much does it cost?

I currently offer shipping throughout New Zealand. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your location, but for your peace of mind, shipping will never exceed $10 per lantern.

Do you accept returns?

I do not offer returns or exchanges. I take great care to describe and photograph my work accurately so you know what to expect. Pre-ordered pieces are specially made and therefore cannot be re-sold. Please ensure you are happy with the style and lead times before placing your order.

What should I do if my lantern arrives damaged?

I take great pride in my packaging to ensure your lantern arrives safely. However, if your order is damaged during transit, please contact me within 48 hours of delivery.
